Yawanawa 2026
A guided pathway into the
Kairau Saiti Festival
Mutum Village · Yawanawa Territory · Brazilian Amazon · 14–21 June 2026
Join me on a rare journey into the heart of the Brazilian Amazon to experience Kairau Saiti and step closer to the living world of the Yawanawá through their prayers, medicine songs, culture, and life in Mutum Village.
What is Kairau Saiti?
Kairau Saiti is a Yawanawá music festival and immersion held in Mutum Village, in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon. Rooted in the vision of Pajé Tatá and carried by Chiefs of the village, Pajes and spiritual Leaders - Matsini, Rasu and Hushahu alongside the Yawanawá family of Mutum.
Kairau brings people closer to the living world of Yawanawá songs, prayers, spirituality, culture, and village life — not as something staged or even designed for outsiders (tourists), but as an expression of what is still alive, represent, learn and deepen their traditions within the tribe itself.
Its not how we would imagine ''festival'' in our countries - this one is about coming together, learn, celebrate and connect with nature & spirit.

What unfolds during Kairau
Across several days in Mutum, Kairau opens through Yawanawá songs and sacred music, ceremonies and circles, storytelling and cosmology, sacred & protective body painting, plant wisdom, and time in the village and forest. It is a lived experience of prayer, learning, culture, and presence — moving between sacred chants, ceremonial spaces, community life, and deeper connection with the land that holds it all.
